Just a little note about our group P.R.O.T.E.C.T.--we got started with the group of parents whose children were involved in the Heroin Ring as well as other parents whose teens have abused illegal substances. These parents are dedicated to sharing their stories, educating and bringing awareness to the community. Most of all, they want other parents that they are not alone in dealing with their families struggles on this issue and that help is available in our community. The first meeting took place in Jan 2009 and with the help of ADS and the Westfield, Chantilly, and Centreville Community Coalitions and PTSAs. We are still in the infancy but welcome others to join us. |
